She became Acting Controller in 1993, and then Deputy Controller in 2004, before standing down the following year. She was also Merseyside County RAYNET Secretary from1995 until 2006 and although over 80, was still active on RAYNET events until 18 month ago.<br /><br />An active amateur, she worked on VHF and UHF and listened on HF. She was grand lady, with a lot of enthusiasm for the work she did with RAYNET, and was known to many members throughout the North West.<br /><br />She will be greatly missed by the members of RAYNET and the local Radio Club.<br /><br />Source: www.raynet-uk.net]]></content:encoded></item><item><title>Eastbourne and Wealdon RAYNET Groups on Flood Standby</title><dc:creator>m3iyl@raynet-uk.net</dc:creator><dc:subject>News</dc:subject><dc:date>2008-01-16T20:34:28+00:00</dc:date><link>http://www.merseyside-raynet.org.uk/page1/files/67e0d4dd0982eb2efc30f7c1ac77db01-6.html#unique-entry-id-6</link><guid isPermaLink="true">http://www.merseyside-raynet.org.uk/page1/files/67e0d4dd0982eb2efc30f7c1ac77db01-6.html#unique-entry-id-6</guid><content:encoded><![CDATA[at 1600hrs on 15th January, the Eastbourne and Wealdon RAYNET group was placed on standby due to possible flooding in Uckfield. Following a multi-agency meeting held at 2000hrs, the 15 members from Eastbourne and 5 from South Sussex were stood down by the district EPO, but remain at a state of readiness for the next few days.
